For your listening pleasure, four tracks from Nine Inch Bukowski.
"What is Nine Inch Bukowski," you ask? Well. It's like… two great tastes that taste great together. Peanut butter meets chocolate. Cheddar meets apple pie. Vodka meets kaluha and cream. Have a listen and hear for yourself:
Track 1: Love Is a Piece of Paper [192kbps | mp3 | 4.1 MB | 2:53]
Track 2: The Hair Hairy Fist [192kbps | mp3 | 3.8 MB | 2:43]
Track 3: Their Finest Art [192kbps | mp3 | 4.4 MB | 3:09]
Track 4: An Action Afternoon (Salem Mix) [192kbps | mp3 | 3.8 MB | 2:42]
Back in 1969 the poet Charles Bukowski was recorded reading various poems from his home in the South Bay. It was released as an LP entitled "70 Minutes In Hell," and, by my informal polling, is more or less unlistenable in spite of Buk's genius.
But genius is genius, and for its own sake it must be endured. So why not spice it up a little, with some of the tastier tracks from Trent Reznor's Quake III soundtrack? It'd be a shame to have those marvelous little exercises in aggression rendered obsolete as soon as Quake IV hit the shelves. You know it would.
Anyway, I threw these together on a dare and they actually go together pretty well. Bukowski's dull madman delivery just comes alive with a little industrial guitar behind it, his own hatred for Rock & Roll notwithstanding.
Give it a listen. I recommend digesting a few tracks before taking the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Or during those tepid hours between euphoric inebriation and crushing hangover. Either way, it just gets you in the mood.
Enjoy!
